Special Friends Day

The Halton Regional Police Service and the Police Services Board have supported Special Friends Day for our community since 1994.

This special day, held annually each June, provides an opportunity for mentally and physically challenged youth and adults in Halton Region to join with Regional emergency services personnel for a day of non-competitive, fun-filled activities.

Things to do include a parade, music, carnival games, crafts, sporting activities and special guests such as the Oakville Lions Club foster puppies.

Volunteers from police, fire, ambulance and community partners run all of the events, and significant time is donated to register participants, organize all elements of the day, obtain sponsors and host a BBQ.

Special Friends Day has also been generously supported by local businesses who have donated prizes, equipment, food and/or money in support our Service's activities.
