ANDREW TYRRELL is an Investigation Officer with the Law Society of Upper Canada. He has resided in the Burlington-Oakville area since 1984.
Appointed to the Police Services Board in June 2006 by the Lieutenant Governor, Andrew is involved in a wide variety of community based programs and initiatives. Andrew is a cycling and running coach to many recreational athletes in the Burlington, Oakville and Toronto areas. He serves as a volunteer with non-profit and charitable organizations such as the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton, Carousel of Nations Multicultural Festival and Oakville Community Waterfront Festival. Since 2000, he has assisted the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton with planning and organizing community non-profit and fundraising events.
He is a member of the Association's steel band which promotes live diverse music accessible to the Halton community. Andrew is also involved in Professionals' Day, an initiative which brings awareness to students about different professions and people in their community. While in the position of Vice-President, Academic Affairs he was presented with the "Governing with Excellence" Award for his work and dedication while sitting on the Board of Directors' for Cambrian College.
Mr. Tyrrell enjoys competing in marathon and triathlon events throughout North America. As a licensed pilot he seeks out remote Canadian destinations.
