Waterskiing & Boardsailing

Waterskiing:

All waterskiings must wear a personal flotation devices (PFDs)
All boat passengers are also required to wear PFDs or approved life jackets
Keep tow ropes, bridles and/or handles in good shape. Replace defective equipment promptly.
In addition to the towboat driver, a competent person must be on board to act as an observer
Always ensure that the towboat driver and all passengers are safely seated in the boat at all times. Sitting on gunwales (sides) or seat backrests is not permitted.
Always maintain a safe distance from shore, stationary objects, narrow channels, swimmers, scuba divers, sailboats and fishermen
It is an offence to tow a waterskiier a half-hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset
If a fall is unavoidable, waterskiiers should attempt to fall backwards or sideways
After a fall, lift a ski at least half its length out of the water to improve visibility to other boat operators

Boardsailing:

Each person must wear an approved personal flotation device (PFD) or life jacket. Note that wetsuits are not approved personal flotation devices.
In warm weather:
- Wear a wetsuit/protective clothing, visor/hat and sunscreen
In cold weather,
- Wear a wetsuit, waterproof boots or shoes, hat/toque and gloves
Know your limits and do not overextend yourself. Always sail with a buddy.
