Burlington

The City of Burlington covers an area of 186 square kilometres and has a population of more than 164,000. To ensure residents and visitors receive the highest standard of policing services, Halton Regional Police Service operations are divided into distinct team areas with police officers assigned to each community within the city.

Patrol responsibilities within #3 District Burlington are divided among four platoons or shifts. Each platoon is led by one Staff Sergeant who is also responsible for an assigned team area.

The District Response Unit (DRU), under the command of a Sergeant, supplements the uniformed platoons by working exclusively on traffic-related issues and other identified community problems requiring a directed response.

Halton Regional Police Service #3 District Burlington operations are also supported by Sergeants, the District's Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB), civilian and volunteer staff.
