Community Committees

Halton Hills Rural Community Policing Committee (C.P.C):

The Halton Hills Rural Community Policing Committee (C.P.C.) is a collaborative effort between the Halton Regional Police Service and members of the community. The committee meets bi-monthly to identify problems of crime and disorder in Rural Halton Hills, then involves all facets of the community in the search for solutions to these problems. It is founded on close, mutually beneficial ties between police and local residents.

Purpose of C.C.C. / C.P.C. Committees:

The purpose of the committee is to work towards creating a healthy and safe community environment for all who live and work in a given community. The committee is a resource through which residents can effectively communicate their concerns to a variety of local organizations, groups and/or local bodies.

The Halton Hills Rural C.P.C. established a phone tree in 2001 that is used throughout the area when there is need to inform the rural community of its concerns or to request assistance and/or participation in crime prevention efforts.

With the assistance of the Optimist Club, the committee also hosts an annual bicycle rodeo promoting bicycle safety and awareness to youngsters living in the community.
