The Halton Regional Police Service Records Information Services Unit supports both adminstrative and operational strategies of the organization and provides services for internal and external business process customers.

New application development and revision of dated applications are based on evolving technology platforms.

Records Information Services is responsible for:

  • Capturing and disseminating information from operational reports
  • Data entry on the Police Resources Integrated System Management (PRISM) system through Niche
  • Contributing and maintaining records on the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) system
  • Producing statistical information for Statistics Canada

Heightened awareness at professional levels for safety and security purposes has increased demands for Records Information Services to process information requirements such as Security Clearance Checks, Freedom of Information access requests, and to provide information to insurance companies, law firms and members of the public.
