The Halton Regional Police Service established its one-year Police Cadet program in June, 2009. The primary purpose of the Police Cadet program is to promote and enhance the career development and experience of future Police Constable candidates.
The recruiting process typically consists of information sessions and the submission of online applications. Subsequent stages involve interviews, psychological testing, background investigations and medical examinations. Candidates are invited to download the application package.
The Halton Regional Police Service Auxiliary Policing Services Unit was founded in 1989 and is comprised of trained civilian volunteers.
It is a demanding but rewarding activity where satisfaction is derived from making a significant contribution to the safety and wellbeing of the community at large.
Our 50 Auxiliary Officers average over 5,000 hours of volunteer hours annually in support of the Halton Regional Police Service and the communities we serve.
There are many rewarding jobs within the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) that don't involve issuing a single ticket. More than 280 permanent, full-time civilian employees provide support and specialized expertise in areas such as 9-1-1 Communications, IT, Human Resources, Finance and Corporate Communications to the entire Service.
