Planning and Research

The Planning and Research Bureau is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of several services within the Halton Regional Police Service:

  • Strategic/business planning
  • Emergency preparedness planning
  • Organizational research and development
  • Problem, resource and deployment analysis
  • Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) coordination
  • Performance measurement, best practices and research central repository management
  • Project management process facilitation, and
  • Program and process evaluation.

The Bureau provides recommendations and strategic advice to Senior Command, and responds to requests for information from internal and external stakeholders. The Bureau also generates statistical reports for the Chief and Senior Command, along with Regional and Municipal data summaries for publication on the HRPS website and in the media.
