Purchasing / Stores


The Halton Regional Police Service Purchasing Services Unit consists of highly-trained public procurement professionals who research and acquire supplies, equipment and services for the HRPS and ensure that all purchasing activities are performed in accordance with the requirements of the Police Service Board's Purchasing By-law.

The Unit also coordinates all goods and services contract administration and maintains all centralized purchasing documents.

Purchasing Services staff participate in two (2) cooperative purchasing groups (Halton Cooperative Purchasing Group (HCPG) and the Ontario Police Cooperative Purchasing Group (PCPG)) to benefit from volume purchase discounts and consistently high standardization of products. Staff also take part in the HRPS Uniform and Equipment Committee to assist in the development of internal standards for all uniform and equipment issuances.

Quarterstores Services

Quarterstores Services coordinate the receipt and distribution of all goods and materials within the organization, including the recording, storage and issuances of thousands of uniform and equipment items. The centralized Quarterstores Unit in Headquarters maintains an inventory of all commonly issued items and issue appropriately as approved through policy requirements. Quarterstores is also responsible for the distribution of all incoming and outgoing mail.

The Halton Regional Police Service Quarterstores Services Unit staff pride themselves in ensuring all uniform officers and civilians are supplied with well-fitting, high-quality, functioning and standardized clothing and equipment items in a timely and cost-effective manner.
