Quality Assurance

The mandate of the Halton Regional Police Service Quality Assurance Bureau is to provide a quality assurance process related to the delivery of adequate and effective police services, and to report on compliance with the Police Services Act and its regulations.

This maintenance is accomplished through the completion of a series of internal comprehensive and compliance audits, along with the review and updating of Service policies and procedures.

Bureau Goals & Benchmarks

To achieve these goals, the Quality Assurance Bureau conducts ongoing comprehensive and compliance audit reviews to ensure the Service is complaint with the provisions of the Police Services Act and the Adequacy Standards Regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, evaluating and implementing the HRPS' quality assurance process to ensure that the Service meets or exceeds legislated provincial standards in the delivery of adequate and effective police services
  • Ensuring that an annual audit of property/evidence held by the Service is conducted and that the results are reported to the Board through the Chief of Police
  • Conducting reviews of all policies and procedures as changes develop or a minimum of once every three years, to ensure Service directives are reviewed, revised and updated on a consistent basis.
