Update: Second Arrest Made in Violent Gang Assault



Halton Police detectives from the One District Criminal Investigations Bureau have made another arrest in the violent assault that occurred at the Halton and Peel border on June 20th, 2018.

Shortly after midnight on June 20th, 2018 Halton police were called to the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Steeles Avenue in response to a gang assault involving weapons. Three men had been surrounded by several vehicles and were attacked by numerous men wielding bats and sticks.  Two victims suffered critical injuries, however they have since been released from hospital.

On Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 detectives arrested 19 year old Mani RANDHAWA of Brampton and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault with a weapon for his role in the attack of the three men.  Mr. RANDHAWA was held for a bail hearing.  On Thursday June 28th, 2018 detectives arrested 20 year old Kinderbir SINGH of Brampton and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault.  Mr. SINGH was held for a bail hearing.

Rankirat SINGH, 20 years of Brampton, fled to India the day of the assault and remains at large.  A warrant for his arrest has been issued for SINGH for two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault with a weapon.

The investigation continues and detectives are working diligently to find all those responsible for the vicious attack. Police continue to encourage those involved to contact a lawyer or detectives and arrange for their safe surrender. Update- Milton Detectives Make Arrest in Violent Gang Assault

Halton Police detectives from the One District Criminal Investigations Bureau have made the first arrest in the violent assault that occurred at the Halton and Peel border on June 20th, 2018.

Shortly after midnight on June 20th, 2018 Halton police were called to the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard and Steeles Avenue in response to a gang assault involving weapons. Police quickly learned that three men had been surrounded by several vehicles and attacked by numerous men wielding bats and sticks.  One of the injured men remains in hospital in critical condition. Two other men are recovering at home from their injuries.

Detectives have been busy fielding information from members of the public and are extremely appreciative at the overwhelming cooperation they have received. Numerous search warrants have been executed and evidence has been recovered.

On Thursday June 28th, 2018 detectives arrested 20 year old Kinderbir SINGH of Brampton and charged him with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault with a weapon for his role in the attack of three men.  Mr. SINGH was held for a bail hearing.

Detectives have also confirmed that the main suspect that is believed to have orchestrated the attack has fled the country. Shortly after the assault, Rankirat SINGH 20 years of Brampton, boarded a flight to New Delhi, India and remains at large. An arrest warrant has been issued for Rankirat SINGH for two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault with a weapon.

The investigation continues and detectives are working diligently to find all those responsible for the vicious attack. Police continue to encourage those involved to contact a lawyer or detectives and arrange for their safe surrender.
