Update - Halton Police Identify Suspicious Device

At approximately 17:30 hours members of the Halton Regional Police - Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU) attended the scene at 2506 Hampshire Gate in Oakville and identified the device as a Canadian military training round. Military personnel were contacted and attended the scene to remove the device.

At this time police have cleared from the area and there are no further public safety concerns.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are asking anyone who may have any information to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825 4747 ext. 2215 / 2216.
