Four Arrested in GTA wide Cell Phone Theft Ring



On November 23 2018, members of the Halton Regional Police Service Two District Criminal Investigations Bureau concluded an investigation involving a cell phone theft ring. Best Buy stores throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) were targeted. Since October 25 2018, the theft ring had hit 5 separate Best Buy locations and stolen approximately $30,000.00 worth of high end cell phones.  The following males have been arrested and charged:

Joseph Ryan POPE (18) of Hamilton:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 (2 counts)
  • Theft Over $5000.00 (3 counts)
  • Possession of Property obtained by Crime

 A young person (17) from Hamilton:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 
  • Theft Over $5000.00 (2 counts)

 A young person (15) of Hamilton:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 
  • Theft Over $5000.00 (2 counts)

A young person (16) of Hamilton:

  • Theft Under $5000.00 
  • Theft Over $5000.00 (3 counts)
