Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region



On November 26, 2018 just after 7:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Lakeshore Road and Trafalgar Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Tina Haaksma (49) of Oakville was charged with driving while ability impaired and driving over 80mgs.

On November 26, 2018 just before 9:30 pm, Halton Police officers initiated a traffic stop in area of Lakeshore Road and Navy Street in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Mary Marcus (59) of Oakville was charged with driving while ability impaired and driving over 80mgs.

On November 27, 2018 just after 9:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of River Glen Boulevard and Neyagawa Boulevard in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Colum Henry (51) of Oakville was charged with driving while with driving while ability impaired and driving over 80mgs.

On November 28, 2018 just before 4:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Fairview Street and Walkers Line in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Huseyin Ozcan (40) of Burlington was charged with driving while ability impaired.

On November 29, 2018 just after 12:00 am, Halton Police officers initiated a traffic stop in area of Postmaster Drive and Kingsridge Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Melissa Cannard (32) of Oakville was charged with fail or refuse to provide sample.

On November 29, 2018 just after 3:30 pm, Halton Police officers initiated a traffic stop in area of Dundas Street and Grand Oak Trail in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, John Swan (55) of Halton Hills was charged with care or control while impaired and care or control over 80mgs.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.

The Service's Twitter and Facebook accounts should not be used for this purpose as they are not monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
