Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region



On December 24, 2018, just before 12:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Ontario Street South and Childs Drive in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Angela McCauley (59) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired.

On December 27, 2018, just before 5:30 pm, Halton Police officers initiated a traffic stop in area of Trafalgar Road and Upper Middle Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Jamie Chalmers (34) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On December 27, 2018, just before 10:00 pm, Halton Police responded to a collision in the area of Glenashton Drive and Central Park Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Vinodh Aiyappan (34) of Oakville was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On December 28, 2018, just before 7:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Dundas Street and Sutton Drive in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Keith Brown (24) of Hamilton was charged with operation while impaired.

On December 29, 2018, just before 1:30 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Appleby Line and Spruce Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Richard MacBeth (41) of Burlington was charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.

On December 30, 2018, just after 1:30 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Brant Street and Plains Road East in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Phillip Sandoval (37) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On December 31, 2018, just after 5:30 pm, Halton Police responded to a collision in the area of Cornwall Road and Cross Avenue in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Lesley Preston (47) of Oakville was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
