On Friday January 11 at approximately 2:18 pm, police responded to reports of a robbery that had occurred at the Scotiabank on Mill Street East in the town of Acton. Witnesses reported observing three males wearing masks exit the bank. Witnesses also indicated that the males had fled the area in a grey Chevy Cruz. No physical injuries have been reported to police as a result of this robbery.
Thereafter, police responded to a collision involving two vehicles in the vicinity of Highway 7 and No. 22 Side Road, south of the bank. One of the vehicles involved in that collision was a grey Chevy Cruz, still occupied by three males matching the descriptions of those involved in the earlier bank robbery.
The three males were arrested at the scene of the collision. Two of the suspects were transported to a local hospital, for assessment of injuries they received as a result of the collision. An occupant in the second vehicle involved in the collision was also transported to an area hospital.
At this time, the investigation into both incidents is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the on duty Staff Sergeant in 12 Division at 905-825-4747 ext. 2410 or Detective Constable Lindsay Murray at 905-825-4747 ext. 2416.
