Suspicious Male in Campbellville Area Identified

An investigation into a suspicious incident at a rural Milton home in the Campbellville area has resulted in several criminal charges.

On December 11th, 2018 shortly before 1 p.m. a male attended a home on Twiss Road in Milton and rang the doorbell.  The homeowner spoke to the male through their Ring camera.  The male asked for directions and left a short time later driving across the lawn of the property in a white GMC pickup truck.  The vehicle was later determined to have been stolen from the Fergus area between December 7th and 9th.

The same male was involved in a shoplifting that occurred on the morning of December 11th.  Just before noon the man entered an optical store on Steeles Avenue and removed ten pairs of sunglasses worth over $4000 from a display and ran out the front door.  The male threatened to run over a store employee if they followed and fled in the same white GMC pickup truck.

On December 14th the male was arrested in Waterloo in an unrelated investigation.  He has been remanded into custody and faces several charges for the Milton incidents.  The stolen GMC pickup truck has been recovered.
