Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region

On December 14, 2018, just before 10:30 pm, Halton Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Lakeshore Road and Maple Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Brenda Dion (60) of Hamilton was charged with driving over 80mgs.

On December 14, 2018, just before midnight, Halton Police responded to a collision in the area of Glenashton Drive and Trafalgar Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Alexandre Dick (26) of Oakville was charged with driving while ability impaired and driving over 80mgs.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.

The Service's Twitter and Facebook accounts should not be used for this purpose as they are not monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
