Police Arrest Trio With Stolen Property

On the 17th of February, 2019, Halton Regional Police in Burlington initiated a traffic stop of a U-Haul truck in the area of Guelph Line and Fairview Street.  The vehicle in question originally stopped for uniform officers but accelerated away as officers approached the vehicle on foot.  Police followed the vehicle as it made attempts to evade police and the vehicle was tracked to the area of North Shore Boulevard and Indian Road where it came to rest in a snow bank. Three persons were taken into police custody at that location without further incident. The vehicle was found to contain a quantity of stolen property, break in instruments and fraudulent documents. As a result of this arrest and subsequent investigation, the following parties have been charged with the noted offences;

Genaro MALLARE of the City of Toronto, 51 years of age

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Stolen Credit Card
  • Possession of Break In Instruments
  • Fail to Comply with Probation
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance of Bail

John BERANG of the City of Toronto, 27 years of age

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Stolen Credit Card
  • Possession of Break In Instruments
  • Fail to Comply with Probation
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance of Bail
  • Flight from Police
  • Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

Lisa CADWELL of the City of Toronto, 44 years of age

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of Stolen Credit Card
  • Possession of Break In Instruments
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Obstruct Police Officer
