Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region

​On March 1, 2019, just before 5:00 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Speers Road and Fourth Line in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Brenen Gyles (42) of Milton was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 1, 2019, just after 5:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint and subsequent collision in the area of Lakeshore Road and Avondale Court in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Justin Cresswell (31) of Brampton was charged with operation while impaired.

On March 1, 2019, just after 11:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Pine Glen Road and Bronte Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Matthew Aspinwall (26) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 3, 2019 just before 1:00 am, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Fifth Line and 30 Side Road in Milton. As a result of this initiative, Thomas Ausmann (51) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 3, 2019, just after 9:30 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Cornwall Road and Reynolds Street in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Kamwaldip Sahota (45) of Oakville was charged with fail or refuse to provide sample.

On March 4, 2019, just after 12:30 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint and subsequent collision in the area of Main Street North and Carruthers Road in Georgetown. As a result of an investigation, Mitchell Griffin (23) of Georgetown was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.​
