Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region

​On March 4, 2019, just after 4:30 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Fairview Street and Plains Road East in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Meredith Schaefer (35) of New Hamburg was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 4, 2019, just before 6:00 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Main Street East and Harris Boulevard in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Muhammad Khan (31) of Milton was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 4, 2019, just before 7:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Mountainview Road South and Argyll Road in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, Nicholas Balletto (39) of Georgetown was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 4, 2019 just before 10:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Niagara Trail and Barber Drive in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, George Koziarz (45) of Georgetown was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 5, 2019, just before 12:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lakeshore Road and Inglewood Drive in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Robert Birse (25) of Burlington was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 7, 2019, just before 10:00 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lakeshore Road West and Jones Street in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Kevin Jones (31) of Oakville was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 7, 2019, just before 10:30 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Dundas Street and Guelph Line in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Kimon Antoniadis (35) of Brechin was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On March 7, 2019 just after 11:00 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Walkers Line and Highway 407. As a result of an investigation, Marta Swiecki (39) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
