Oakville Man Charged with Fentanyl and Other Drug-Related Offences

​On May 8, 2019, members of the Halton Regional Police Service – Drug and Human Trafficking Unit concluded a drug investigation with the arrest of an Oakville resident.   

Following the arrest, investigators obtained judicial authorization for two search warrants in Oakville associated to the accused which believed to contain further drugs and evidence pertaining to drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, police seized the following items:

-1 ounce of methamphetamine 

-1000 ML of GHB

-2 grams of purple fentanyl

-1 hydromorphone 

Matthew Stairs (39) of Oakville has been charged with the following offences:

-Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine

-Possession for the purpose of trafficking GHB

-Possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl

-Possession Hydromorphone 

-Breach Probation Order

Stairs was held for bail.
