Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region

On May 10, 2019, just before 12:00 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Regional Road 25 and 25 Side Road in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, Tomislav Kelava (44) of Halton Hills was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On May 11, 2019, just before 12:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Dundas Street West and Postmaster Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Hasan Burney (30) of Oakville was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On May 11, 2019 just before 10:00 pm, Halton Police officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. initiative in the area of Dorval Drive and Upper Middle Road in Oakville. As a result of this initiative, Carlos Oliveira Sousa (38) of Oakville was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On May 11, 2019, just before 11:00 pm, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Appleby Line and Derry Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Bradley Ernst (27) of Milton was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On May 12, 2019, just before 12:30 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Winston Churchill Boulevard North and 22 Side Road in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, Gustav Adjei (36) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.

On May 12, 2019 just after 4:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Cornwall Road and Old Mill Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Albert Mintern (72) of Oakville was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On May 13, 2019, just before 2:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lakeshore Road East and Morrison Road in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, James MacNaughton (47) of Oakville was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.
