Arrests Made After Two Males Observed Looking Into Vehicles in Milton

‚ÄčThe Halton Regional Police Service has arrested two males after an investigation into reports of persons looking into vehicles in Milton. On June 10, 2019 just after 2:30 am, members of the Halton Regional Police Service were called to the area of Bell Street and Vanier Drive in Milton for reports of two males looking into vehicles.  Upon police arrival, two suspects fled on foot and a brief foot-chase ensued.  One suspect was quickly captured and arrested.  With the assistance of the Canine Unit, the second suspect was located and arrested in a wooded area shortly thereafter.  Investigation determined that the suspects had arrived in the area in a stolen vehicle, which has since been recovered by police.

Mathew OLIVEIRA (19) of Hamilton has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possess/use stolen credit card (8 Counts)
  • Fraud Under $5000 (8 Counts)

Matthew Chupil (19) of Hamilton has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possess/use stolen credit card (8 Counts)
  • Fraud Under $5000 (8 Counts)
  • Fail to comply with Probation (4 counts)

Both suspects were held for bail.
