Impaired Driving Offences Within Halton Region

​On June 29, 2019, just before 1:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Auburn Road and Trafalgar Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Jean-Marc Schmied (25) of Halton Hills was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On June 29, 2019, just after 6:30 pm, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of McLaughlin Avenue and Sugden Terrace in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Andrew Muise (31) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On July 1, 2019, just before 2:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Dundas Street West and Valleyridge Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Mshare Ode (33) of St. Johns was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On July 1, 2019, just before 2:30 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 7 and Wildwood Road in Georgetown. As a result of an investigation, Ashley McMillan (35) of Erin was charged with operation while impaired.

On July 1, 2019, just after 3:00 am, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Chillingham Crescent and Dunvegan Avenue in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, Karen Jones (52) of Oakville was charged with operation while impaired.

On July 1, 2019, just after 4:00 am, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 407 and Appleby Line in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Onkar Uppal (40) of Burlington was charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.

The Service's Twitter and Facebook accounts should not be used for this purpose as they are not monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.​
