On the December 15, 2019, GO Transit officers arrested a suspect in relation to mischief offences on their property in Oakville. Halton Regional Police Service investigators from Oakville were able to link the arrested party to several acts of graffiti in the south-west end of Oakville from November 27 to December 2, 2019.
Justus Choquette (27) of Oakville has been charged with nine counts of mischief under $5,000 and one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
Choquette was released from custody with a future court date.
Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Since mid-November 2019, the Halton Regional Police Service has seen a spike in graffiti targeting commercial buildings, schools, fences and bus shelters. The reported incidents are primarily concentrated in the southwest area of Oakville.
The person believed to be responsible is described as:
Female, white, 5'8", early 20's, brown hair, with a thin build (photo attached).
These incidents are believed to have occurred in the early morning hours. Police would like to encourage the public to continue reporting suspicious activity.
