Charges Laid in Theft of Catalytic Converters in City of Burlington.

‚ÄčThe Halton Regional Police have arrested and laid charges against three males and one female in relation to multiple thefts of catalytic converters from motor vehicles throughout Burlington. 

A total of 52 catalytic converters thefts have occurred in the City of Burlington since October of 2019.  Investigators from 30 Division were proactively patrolling various car lots throughout the City of Burlington on February 25th and observed four suspects removing a catalytic converter from a motor vehicle parked at the Aldershot GO Station.  Police arrested all four suspects without incident and recovered the stolen property. 

Investigation by the Burlington Criminal Investigations Bureau has led to charges against the following individuals;

Justin TURCOTTE (28 years old from Hamilton)

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Failure to Comply with Recognizance
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

Christopher PALINKAS (34 years old from Hamilton)

  • Theft Under $5,000, four counts

Adam MORIN (22 years old from Hamilton)

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl)

Amy-Lynn MORIN (33 years old from Hamilton)

  • Theft Under $5,000

Justin Turcotte was held for a bail hearing on the 25th of February 2020.  The other three individuals were released from police custody on a Promise to Appear and Undertaking.
