Man Arrested after Damaging Police Cruiser

​​On March 28, 2020, shortly after 12:00 pm, a male suspect entered the parking lot of Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) 12 Division in Milton. The suspect was observed to be wearing a bandana covering his face. The suspect approached a fully marked HRPS patrol car and began to strike the vehicle with the sledgehammer. The suspect was immediately confronted by a uniform officer in the lot.

After a short foot pursuit, the suspect was arrested by the officer.

James Stokes (39) of Mississauga has been charged with the following:

  • Mischief Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x4)

Stokes was held for a bail hearing in Milton.
