At approximately 11:28am on the 16th of May 2020, Halton Regional Police Service received reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist on Burloak Drive near the entrance to Bronte Creek Park in the City of Burlington. Initial investigation indicated that a 32 year old male cyclist from Burlington had been southbound on Burloak Drive in the bicycle lane prior to attempting to cross Burloak Drive cycling east toward the entrance to Bronte Creek Provincial Park. The cyclist was struck by a southbound BMW sedan driven by a 46 year old Burlington man.
The cyclist was taken to Hamilton General Hospital by Halton Region Paramedic Services with life threatening injuries. The driver of the BMW remained on scene. The road was closed for approximately 4 hours for the at-scene investigation.
