The Halton Regional Police Service confirms that the suspect in last Thursday’s double shooting at the Mejilla Chiropractic Clinic, 44 year-old David Williamson of Burlington, has died in hospital of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

*Update* Halton Regional Police Service Investigating Double Shooting in Burlington

The Halton Regional Police Service confirms that one man is dead and another in critical condition as a result of a shooting at a Chiropractic clinic on Plains Road in Burlington on March 16th,2017.

Dr. Ferdinand “Fred” Mejilla, (Pronounced “Ma-Hail-Ya”) 50 years, died in hospital from gunshot wounds. He was the owner and operator of the clinic located at 195 Plains Road East, Burlington. Dr.Mejilla leaves behind five children and several patients. His family requests that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.

The suspect, David Williamson, 44 years of Burlington remains in critical condition in hospital with what is believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Williamson was a one-time patient of Dr. Mejilla. Homicide investigators are continuing the investigation.

Halton Regional Police Service Investigating Double Shooting in Burlington

The Halton Regional Police Service is investigating a double shooting at a Mejilla Chiropractic Clinic in Burlington. Officers responded to the location on Plains Road this afternoon at 12:05 p.m.

Both injured parties were taken to hospital for treatment. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

No suspects are being sought and there is no concern for public safety.

More information will be issued as it is available.
