Community Mobilization Bureau (CMBs)

In support of Community Mobilization and Engagement, the Halton Regional Police Service has established a Community Mobilization Bureau (CMB) in each District (municipality) in the Region. These Bureaus work with community partners to collaborate on local community safety and wellbeing strategies. Each CMB includes a Staff Sergeant and two Sergeants who oversee the officers working in the following Teams:

Community Engagement Team

The officers in the Community Engagement Team are responsible for the following:

  • Respond to cases of acutely elevated risk of victimization or deterioration by convening a COMMANDE Table where police, community based organizations and social service providers can meet to address specific incidents of social disorder conditions.
  • Provide safety awareness and education to elementary and high school students as part of the Youth and Education Team.
  • Developing and delivering community safety and wellbeing practices that recognize and respond to the sensitive needs of our culturally diverse Region. They also provide operational support to regional and local Diversity and Inclusivity events.
  • Addressing and supporting the needs and concerns of Halton’s Senior population
  • Provide community outreach support to many local events, festivals, road races and cultural events, through the use of volunteers and the Auxiliary Units.
