On June 17, 2022, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Appleby Line and Dryden Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Yesim Erkus (38) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.

On June 17, 2022, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Woodward Avenue and Cumberland Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Scott McBride (51) of Burlington was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On June 17, 2022, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Guelph Street and Sinclair Avenue in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, Johnathon Harris (28) of Halton Hills was charged with operation while impaired.

On June 18, 2022, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Courtland Drive and Blairholm Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Sagal Ismail (28) of Toronto was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On June 18, 2022, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Cooke Boulevard and Masonry Court in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Josue Ponce (23) of Hamilton was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On June 18, 2022, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Longfield Road and Mowbray Place in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, Michael Jones (45) of Halton Hills was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.  

On June 19, 2022, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brant Street and The Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Elizebth Scott (43) of Hamilton was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.

On June 19, 2022, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Plains Road East and Brant Street in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, Geza Hrinko (36) of Thornhill was charged with operation while impaired.   

On June 19, 2022, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of McNiven Road and Derry Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, Ruairidh Maclennan (31) of Milton was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.   

The Halton Regional Police Service remains committed to road safety through prevention, education and enforcement initiatives.

Members of the public are reminded that driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol is a crime in progress and to call 9-1-1 immediately to report a suspected impaired driver.

The Service’s Twitter and Facebook accounts should not be used for this purpose as they are not monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Here are some signs of an impaired driver: 

  • Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed
  • Drifting in and out of lanes
  • Tailgating and changing lanes frequently
  • Making exceptionally wide turns
  • Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance
  • Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights
  • Disregarding signals and lights
  • Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly
  • Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on
  • Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather

Please be reminded that all persons charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
