Communities On Phone Patrol (C.O.P.P.)

Communities On Phone Patrol (C.O.P.P.) is a joint effort between the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) and the residents of Halton region.

As extra eyes and ears in the community, C.O.P.P. volunteers observe and report suspicious and/or illegal activities such as vandalism, youth loitering, break and enters, and drug and alcohol offences happening in their respective communities to the HRPS.

Role of C.O.P.P. Volunteers

C.O.P.P. volunteers are expected to: 

  • attend community events and functions,
  • assist in special assignments, and
  • conduct traffic surveys to enhance road safety in the Region of Halton. 

The purpose of C.O.P.P. is to contribute to the quality of life, safety, and security of the communities within Halton region through the support of the HRPS and our collective commitment to Community Safety and Well-Being.
