Courts and Tickets
If you have a virtual court appearance date but do not have access to the internet, the Oakville Public Library has space set up to assist you. Please read their Virtual Court Letter for information on how to book a spot.
There are three courthouses serving Halton region. In accordance with provincial legislation, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Court Services Bureau provides a police presence at both locations.
Why might I need to attend court?
Here are some reasons why you may need to attend one of the courts in Halton region:
- Jury duty
- Facing criminal charges
- Family issues such as marriage, custody settlements, or divorce
- Small claims
- Obtaining a restraining order
- Disputing or paying traffic tickets
Burlington Courthouse
The Burlington Courthouse is located at 2021 Plains Road East, Burlington.
Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The Burlington Courthouse handles criminal court services and small claims for the Region of Halton.

Milton Courthouse
The Milton Courthouse is located at 491 Steeles Avenue East, Milton.
Hours: Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Halton Traffic Courthouse is located at 4085 Palladium Way, Burlington.
