Protect Your Valuables

You likely have items in your home that are expensive or difficult to replace. There are simple steps you can take to help protect them.

General tips

• Make a list of all valuables in your home
• Get contents insurance
• Record the serial and model numbers of valuable items and store the list in a secure place
• Register more expensive items
• Take photos or videos of your valuables (e.g. electronics, jewelry, etc.)
• Record unique markings or damage to your valuables to assist with identification in the event they are stolen
• Mark your valuables with an engraver, permanent stencil, or microdot technology tool
• Keep valuables in a locked and secured safe
• Use the built-in security features for computers, tablets, and mobile devices
