Mausoleum Thefts: Recovered Property
In November of 2025, the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) concluded an investigation into numerous thefts from cremation niches in Oakville, Burlington, Toronto and the Niagara region. The suspects targeted jewelry, decorative cremation urns, keepsakes, and other valuables often stored in these niches.
While Investigators have made efforts to return all recovered property to their rightful owners, an image gallery has been created to showcase the remaining items in hopes of assisting families recover their missing items.

If you identify an item from these photographs that belongs to a passed loved one, please email us at mausoleumthefts@haltonpolice.ca and provide in the email the following documentation:
- Proof of the cemetery where the cremation niche is stored or registered (location),
- Approximately timeframe of the theft (last visitation to the cremation niche),
- Details and descriptions of the stolen items (photograph of the cremation niche/items if available),
- Name of the deceased person(s)
Investigators will review your request and contact you with instructions on how to proceed.
