The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) are investigating two violent incidents targeting an Oakville theatre in the past week.
On September 25, 2025, at approximately 5:20 am two suspects attended Film.ca Cinemas located at 171 Speers Road, where they used a flammable liquid to ignite a fire at the exterior entrance doors of the theatre. The fire remained contained to the exterior with moderate damage sustained.
The two suspects in this incident are described as:
1) White, wearing black pants, a black hoody, dark coloured high top shoes, gloves and a medical mask.
2) Wearing black pants, a black hoody, white slip on sandals, white socks, gloves and a medical mask, carrying a cell phone.
Both suspects were carrying red gas cans.
A white SUV was observed at the time of the fire with a second suspicious grey SUV observed in the parking lot of the cinema on three separate occasions between 2am and 3am.
On October 2, 2025, at approximately 1:50 am one suspect approached the front entrance of Film.ca Cinemas where they used a handgun to discharge multiple rounds through the entrance doors of the theatre.
The suspect in this incident is described as:
1) Male, dark skin, with a heavy build, wearing all black clothing and a black face mask.
Both incidents occurred during the overnight hours while the theatre was closed for business. No one was injured in either incident.
Investigators believe these are targeted incidents and are requesting anyone with information regarding these investigations to contact the 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext: 2216.
