Bomb Threats Received at Halton Regional High Schools
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has cleared nine area schools in response to a bomb threat investigation.
On May 7, 2026, at approximately 6 am, HRPS officers responded to a report of a bomb threat involving multiple schools across Halton Region, the schools belonging to both the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board, in addition to a private school.
Investigation determined that a generic e-mail was received by members of all school boards which listed the following schools as targets of the threat:
Halton District School Board:
- Oakville Trafalgar HS
- Iroquois Ridge HS
- Abby Park HS
- White Oaks Secondary
- Garth Webb Secondary
Halton Catholic District School Board:
- Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary
- St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary
- St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary
Private School
- Appleby College
Over the course of the next few hours officers attended and completed thorough searches of all affected schools. No devices or credible evidence was located to suggest a threat to the safety of faculty, students or the public. Schools have resumed normal operations.
