Burlington Break & Enter Arrests & Charges

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has laid multiple charges in connection with a series of break and enters that occurred in Burlington and Oakville last November.

The suspects typically cased homes before breaking in and targeted houses during the daytime when residents were not home. The suspects forced open locked front doors and, once inside, primarily targeted bedrooms, stealing cash, jewelry, and other valuables.

Clayton McFarlane (44) of Oshawa and Darnyl Campbell (33) of Grimsby have each been charged with four counts of Break and Enter and four counts of Disguise with Intent.

Both accused appeared in Milton Court on March 6, 2026, and were remanded into custody.

“Break-ins like these are more than property crimes, they violate the sense of safety people expect in their own homes,” said HRPS Deputy Chief, Roger Wilkie. “Residents in the Orchard, and Alton Village neighbourhoods of Burlington as well as residents of north Burlington and Oakville were directly impacted, and our investigators worked tirelessly to identify and charge those responsible.”

“This investigation required extensive video canvassing and investigators worked closely with neighbouring police services to identify those responsible for these offences,” said 3 District Superintendent Dave Costantini. “Their efforts and the assistance we received from the public helped bring this investigation to a successful conclusion and ensure those involved are now facing charges.”

The investigation involved extensive collaboration with neighbouring police services, including York Regional Police and Peel Regional Police.

Investigators believe the accused may be responsible for additional offences and photos of the accused have been attached to this media release.
