Burlington Centre Mall Shooting (Update)
Update 1: (February 13, 2026)
Investigators with the HRPS Major Crime Bureau are requesting the public’s assistance to identify a dark coloured compact SUV which was observed in close proximity of the shooting that occurred in the parking lot of Burlington Centre on February 9, 2026.

The white SUV observed in the video is the suspect vehicle responsible for this incident. HRPS can confirm the white SUV was located a short time after the homicide, abandoned and set on fire in the City of Hamilton.
Investigators are attempting to clarify the involvement of the dark coloured compact SUV and are asking anyone who may be able to identify the vehicle or its occupants to contact the Major Crime Bureau at 905-825-4776.
Anyone who may have security or dash cam footage of the area around the time of the offence are also asked to contact police.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS), is investigating a shooting incident at Burlington Centre Mall that has left one person dead.
On February 9, 2026, at approximately 10:10 p.m. officers attended the parking lot of 777 Guelph Line in response to a male that had been shot. The male was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased.
The deceased has been identified as, Omer Niaz Muhammad ,24, of Burlington.
Police are searching for two suspects who fled in a white SUV.
Police have not made any arrests and Investigators believe this was a targeted incident with no known risk to public safety.
Anyone who may have security or dash cam footage of Guelph Line, Prospect Street and Fairview Street around the time of the offence is asked to contact police.
