Charges Laid Following Sexual Assault Investigation
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested and charged a Georgetown man with sexual assault.
On May 25, 2026, at approximately 7:10 p.m. a teenage female youth was walking in the area of James Street and Draper Street in Georgetown when she was approached by the accused. The accused then initiated a conversation with the female and sexually assaulter her.
On May 29, 2026, Sankalp Singh (28) of Georgetown, was arrested and charged with Sexual Assault, Invitation to Sexual Touching and Sexual Interference.
Singh was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
Police believe there may be additional victims and a photograph of the accused has been attached to this media release.

Sexual assault is any touching of another person without their consent where the touching is of a sexual nature, or where the sexual integrity of the victim is violated. A sexual assault can range from unwanted touching to sexual assault involving penetration.
There is no statute of limitation when it comes to reporting a sexual assault. This means that no matter how long ago the sexual assault happened, you can still report it to police for investigation.
