As a result of the investigation, on March 29, 2026, Jayon Burgher (18) of Barrie, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

•          Careless Use of a Firearm
•          Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
•          Use a Firearm While Committing an Offence
•          Discharge Firearm with Intent
•          Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
•          Mischief to Property – Over $5000

Burgher has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

The investigation into this shooting incident is ongoing. Detectives continue to search for additional suspects and are requesting anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact the Major Crime Bureau (MCB) at 905-825-4777 or the (MCB) tip line at 905-825-4776.

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid multiple charges following a shooting incident in Oakville.

As a result of the investigation, on March 29, 2026, Jayon Burgher (18) of Barrie, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

•          Attempt Murder
•          Careless Use of a Firearm
•          Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
•          Point a Firearm
•          Use a Firearm While Committing an Offence
•          Discharge Firearm with Intent
•          Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose

Burgher has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Early Morning Shooting in Oakville (Original Release, March 29):

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating an early morning shooting in Oakville.

On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 5:30 am, police were called to the area of Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line for reports of a shooting. 

Investigators believe the shooting to be targeted, and one male was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police are seeking witnesses who may have observed the shooting or who may possess relevant dashcam footage from the area.

Investigators are specifically requesting dashcam video recorded between 5:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. in the following locations:

·       Lakeshore Road and Fourth Line, Oakville

·       Lakeshore Road between Fourth Line and Southdown Road, Mississauga

·       Ford Drive from Lakeshore Road to the QEW

·       Winston Churchill Boulevard from Lakeshore Road to the QEW

At this time, there is no available description of a suspect or vehicle.
