Employee Charged Following Theft Investigation Involving Oakville Aerospace Company

Members of the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) 2 District Risk Mitigation Team (RMT) have arrested a male following a complex internal theft investigation involving a local aerospace company in Oakville.

In early June 2026, members of 2 District RMT assumed carriage of the investigation after an aerospace company reported the theft of specialized millwright and aerospace equipment and tools.

Working closely with business owners and utilizing a variety of investigative techniques  investigators were able to identify the responsible party as an employee of the company. Investigation found that following the theft the stolen items were placed for sale by the accused on social media platforms.

On June 30, 2026, RMT investigators executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a Brantford residence where the accused was taken into custody. During the search investigators recovered approximately $250,000 worth of millwright and aerospace equipment along with over $150,000 in Canadian currency. Several high value designer watches and sunglasses were also recovered which are believed to be connected to proceeds of crime.

As a result of the investigation Abhishek Kumar Patel, 30, of Brantford has been charged with the following:

  •          Theft over $5000
  •          Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
  •          Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 – Trafficking

Patel has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

This investigation remains ongoing. Investigators are continuing to work with the affected business to identify additional stolen property and determine whether further charges are warranted.

HRPS reminds businesses that employee-related theft can have a significant financial impact and encourages organizations that identify suspected criminal activity to report it to police.
