Former Dental Office Employee Charged With Fraud Offences
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has made an arrest and laid multiple criminal charges following a lengthy financial crime investigation involving the former employee of an Oakville dental office.
In April 2025, the HRPS Financial Crimes Unit began an investigation into an allegation a former male employee of a dental office located in Oakville had been fraudulently redirecting business funds into various bank accounts under his control. The funds were stolen while the employee worked at the dental office.
Over the next few months investigators utilized a variety of investigative techniques and processes to determine more than $235,000 had been redirected to the employee’s accounts between May 2023 and January 2025.
As a result of the investigation on May 1, 2026, Ngoc Tuan Nguyen (36) of Mississauga, was charged with the following:
- Fraud – Over $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000
- Laundering Proceeds of Crime
Nguyen was released on an Undertaking with a future court date in Milton.
Investigators believe the accused may have been employed at additional dental offices and are concerned there may be more victims. Anyone who may have been victimized by the accused, or anyone with information on this investigation is asked to contact Detective Constable Kate Banks of the Financial Crimes Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 2265.
