Homicide: Ronald MacNeil
On the evening of Monday, April 20 1987 MacNeils brutally beaten body was discovered in a rural area near the village of Kilbride approximately 33 km. northeast of Hamiltons city core.
Mr. MacNeil, age 40, 5 2', 113 lbs. was a Hamilton, Ontario resident. In 1986 and 1987, MacNeil lived in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. It is believed that MacNeil became involved in the illicit drug market.
MacNeil was last seen alive on the evening of Good Friday, April 1987 in Hamilton. MacNeil was operating a distinctive 1975 Ford 500 Ranchero, blue in colour. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the Center Apartments at 468 Ottawa Street North, Hamilton.
On the evening of Friday, April 24 1987, one week following MacNeil's disappearance, Steven Roy, a 23-year-old Hamilton man was also murdered and his body dumped in a rural area approximately 28 km. south of Hamilton's city core. It is unknown if the two murders are connected.
It is known that MacNeil and Roy were associates and attended a party in the penthouse suite of the Century 21 Building on Main Street Hamilton sometime before MacNeil's death.
