Internet Child Exploitation Arrest

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has charged a Hamilton Police Service (HPS) Officer in connection with an investigation involving child sexual abuse and exploitation material offences.

On February 25, 2026, David Hamilton (43) of Burlington, was arrested and charged with the following:

  •          Possession of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material (One Count)
  •          Transmitting Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material (One Count)

Hamilton has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

The offences are alleged to have occurred in the City of Burlington between January 3rd and 4th, 2026.

These investigations have been funded and made possible through a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.

As the matter is now before the courts, the HRPS will not be providing any further updates.
