ORIGINAL RELEASE April 23, 2026
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating a violent home invasion in Burlington and an attempted break-in in Oakville involving the same suspects.
On April 22, at approximately 3:45 a.m., five suspects attended a residence in the Roseland neighbourhood of south Burlington. The suspects smashed a glass panel on the front door, reached inside to unlock it, and quickly gained entry.
The suspects were confronted by the residents and made demands for valuables. A physical altercation ensued, during which one of the residents was struck in the head with an unknown object. The injury required medical attention.
The altercation caused the suspects to flee the scene. No items were stolen.
Investigators have determined that the same group was responsible for an attempted break-in earlier that morning in Oakville.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., a resident in southeast Oakville was awoken by loud banging at the front door. The suspects were observed kicking the door and using a hammer in an attempt to force entry. The resident called 9-1-1, and the suspects fled prior to police arrival without gaining access to the home.
In both incidents, the suspects were seen driving a dark-coloured sedan. All five suspects are described as males with slim builds, wearing dark clothing, hoods, and balaclavas.
Investigators are appealing to the public for any video footage (dashcam or surveillance) from the area near Royal Windsor Drive and Ford Drive between 2:45 a.m. and 3:10 a.m., and in the area of New Street (between Walkers Line and Guelph Line) and Rossmore Boulevard between the hours of 3:30 a.m. and 4:10 a.m.
Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the 3 District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316.
