Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Two Loaded Firearms in Burlington
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has seized two loaded firearms after an early morning traffic stop in Burlington.
On June 3, at approximately 4:00 am, an HRPS officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the Petro Canada station located at the intersection of Walkers Line and Harvester Road. The lone male in the vehicle was wearing a face covering at the time of the traffic stop.
As a result of the on-scene investigation, police arrested the male for Impaired Operation and conducted a search of the vehicle.
Police located and seized the following items:
· Glock 9MM handgun (magazine with 9 rounds loaded into firearm)
· Glock 40 caliber handgun (loaded with 14 additional rounds in the magazine)
· Glock 9MM magazine with 8 rounds of ammunition
· Approximately 150 Oxycodone pills
· Approximately 150 Xanax pills
· Approximately 40 Hydromorphone pills
· Approximately 50 grams of crack cocaine
As a result, Leslie Prince (46) of Etobicoke has been charged with the following:
· Operation While Impaired
· Care of Control of Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Oxycodone)
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Xanax)
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Hydrochloride)
· Careless Use of a Firearm
· Unauthorized Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle (two counts)
· Unauthorized Possession of a firearm (two counts)
· Careless storage of a firearm (two counts)
· Possession of a prohibited firearm (two counts)
· Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized (two counts)
· Possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order (three counts)
