If your collision DOES NOT involve any of the above circumstances, follow this process:
- If it is safe to do so, remove vehicle from the roadway.
- Exchange information with the other involved drivers/parties, including independent witnesses and their contact information.
- Obtain names, addresses, phone numbers, insurance, and vehicle information, including driver’s licence number and license plate number, from all vehicles involved.
- If an officer attended the scene of the collision, collision participants will be provided with a report number to bring to the CRC to complete their collision report.
Before you arrive at the Collision Reporting Centre (CRC):
- Start your collision report by visiting Report a Collision from your mobile device or personal computer prior to attending the CRC.
- As soon as possible, go to the CRC in the municipality where your collision occurred (see below for locations) with your vehicle to report your collision.
- Bring your documentation with you to the CRC (i.e. driver’s licence, vehicle registration permit (ownership), and proof of insurance).
- During business hours, the driver must report to the CRC with the damaged vehicle (driven or towed directly from the scene of the collision if not drivable).
- Ideally, both parties of the collision should attend at the same time to speed up the process.

Upon arriving at the CRC:
- The CRC allows individuals to report less-serious collisions in an effective manner rather than having to wait long periods of time before police can respond. It also allows officers to continue attending calls that are more serious in nature.
- When you arrive at the CRC, staff will document and photograph damage, apply damage stickers, take/complete the MVC report, and facilitate contact with respective insurance companies.
