Pipes and Drums
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) Pipes and Drums represents the Chief of Police and the spirit of the HRPS.
Band membership is comprised primarily of civilian volunteers and is made up of 16 pipers, five snare drummers, and one bass drummer.
Performances

The band performs, under the permission of the Chief of Police, at 40 or more community events within and beyond Halton region, including:
- Swearing-In Ceremonies
- Police Day
- Volunteer appreciation nights
- Police Exemplary Service Medal (PESM) Awards
- Citizen Police Academy graduations
Practices and New Members
The Pipes and Drums practice weekly on Thursday evenings at Police Headquarters. The Pipes and Drums are accepting new members, including novice and experienced musicians.
History and Performances
The HRPS Pipes and Drums was formed in 1987 and is under the direction of Pipe Major Graeme Sutherland, a former member of the Pipes and Drums of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise's).
